PrintsPaul Wayne Knierim
January 29, 1935 - October 5, 2003

Paul, a well-known, talented artist in the racing industry was raised in the community of Gardena, CA. Following high school he entered the U.S. Navy, serving aboard the U.S.S. Safeguard, a salvage vessel during the Korean Conflict. Returning home, he married. Three children were born to this union, Raymond John, Kari Ladene, and Kristi Nadene. During all of these years he pursued his love of drawing, becoming a sought after expert in pin striping and eventually moved into the field of auto racing where he again became sought after doing custom painting, lettering, and gold leafing. Growing up in Gardena, he loved the atmosphere of the old Carroll Speedway and developed a great respect of dirt track racing.

Paul was a kind and compassionate lover of his many pets through the years. We cannot think of Paul without remembering him with his best buddy, Wally at his side and eventually Wally II. Paul will be remembered for his "unique" expression of life, his wit and his gentle spirit, not to forget his wonderful talent.

The checkered flag is down, Paul has won the race. But wait... just around the curve, the green flag is out again... we're right behind you Paul, maybe a few car lengths or a lap or two. Keep turning left dear brother. Blessed be your memory.

For those who wish, donations in his memory may be made to your local humane society.
